I have personally used this workout so I am going to give you my honest PX90 reviews, the good stuff as well as the bad.

What Exactly Is P90X?
Well it is a boot camp style workout program that users can do at home, it involves a variety of different workouts from resistance training and cardiovascular right through to yoga and kenpo karate. The 90 in the name is because it lasts for 90 days but you can do it over and over again if you like because you always right down your progress so you can just keep on improving.
The program is split up into 3 styles: Classic, Doubles and Lean and each of them have 3 different phases. Here is what phase 1 of Classic looks like.
Phase 1 – Weeks 1, 2 and 3
Day 1 – Chest and Back, plus Ab Ripper X
Day 2 – Plyometrics
Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – Yoga X
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – Kenpo X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch
Phase 1 – Week 4 (Recovery Week)
Day 1 – Yoga X
Day 2 – Core Synergistics
Day 3 – Kenpo X
Day 4 – X Stretch

PX90 is based on the theory of ‘muscle confusion’ and is supposed to give fast and consistent results by frequently changing workouts and movements and avoiding any plateaus. Hitting these plateaus is something I’ve definitely had trouble with in the past and it does seem to be very effective at pretty much eliminating them.
One of the things I liked most about this workout was the fact that you can do these workouts in the comfort of your own home which means you don’t have to shell out for costly gym memberships. You do need some equipment such as a pull up bar and dumb bells or some resistance bands, a mat and also a heart rate monitor is recommended as well.
The Pro’s
- Great Workout, does exactly what it claims to do
- You can do it from home with minimal equipment
- The program can be adapted to suite your goals
- It is a complete A-Z program so there is no guess work
- Lots of happy customers
- Fantastic on-going support in the forum
The Con’s
- It is quite challenging so will not suite people who are really out of shape
- Tony Horton can be a little annoying at times (personal preference I suppose)
The Verdict
All in all P90X is is a fantastic workout program as long as you are willing to commit to it, thousands of people have had great success with this program and for good reason. They should really warn people how extreme it actually is because some people might purchase it, go through the fitness test that you need to do before you start the program fully and realize that they are not ready to go ahead with it.
